Dear Partygirl,
I read about stars who use medical procedures to have their babies before stretch marks show.  Is this a good idea?

Partygirl reply:

Dear Anonymous,

We generally do not allow anonymous questions, but we will make an exception here.

You are referring, we assume, to the 8th month ceasarean in an attempt to avoid last-minute weight gains that can lead to stretch marks, and "unwanted" changes to private parts.

We believe that, first and foremost, you need to understand that "movie and pop stars" are a manufactured product, much like the can of peas that sits on your shelf.  "Stars" are artificial products from an artificial environment and are generally manufactured by people for whom money is everything.

The "critics" and "press" who coerce those "stars" into these dubious decisions by their public taunts do not concern themselves as much with the wellbeing of either mothers or their babies, as with the general wellbeing of the money machine they are either paid or coerced to protect.  It is a rather ruthless industry.

Should you take notice of these trends? Absolutely not!

Evolution has perfected childbirth over many thousands of years, and while it is entirely proper for doctors to intervene when things go wrong, it is not advisable to interfere with nature when it does what it does best.

Hollywood, its stars and its promoters are trying to tell you that your vanity should be more important than the life of your baby.  I'm sure you can see for yourself why that logic does not work particularly well.

There is nothing wrong with a ceasarean birth; as long as it your decision based on your own and real personal needs.
